SCOUTING REPORT: Selected as a team co-captain in August ... Miami's new defensive coaches were impressed by Kokal's leadership qualities, saying that he brings maturity to the secondary ... looks to repeat the success that he had as a sophomore in 2009.

2010: (One of Miami's most valuable reserves, his interception in the final minute of the Kent State game preserved the RedHawks' 27-21 victory ... recorded 39 total tackles, four PBUs, 2.5 QB sacks and two fumble recoveries in 14 games ... statistically, Kokal's best game was an eight-tackle effort at Missouri ... he had at least one tackle in all but one game.

2009: Earned third-team All-MAC honors and first-team Academic All-MAC laurels ... a starter at free safety in all 12 games, his 105 tackles ranked him second on the team and tied for ninth among all MAC players ... his game-saving, fumble-causing tackle at the end of the Toledo game helped Miami hang on to beat the Rockets ... six times he had 10 or more tackles, paced by 13 stops vs. Cincinnati and Bowling Green ... recorded 12 tackles in consecutive games against Toledo and Temple ... notched his first career interception vs. Northwestern in a narrow defeat at Evanston.

2008: Appeared in nine games, recording a pair of tackles ... made his varsity debut before more than 100,000 fans at Michigan.

2007: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year football letterwinner from the Eagles, helping them to the Division V State Championship game ... finished his career with 322 tackles and 14 interceptions ... named first-team all-county, all-region and all-state as a senior, after making 98 tackles and picking off five passes ... coached by Tony Napolet.
