2003 Season
Ranked second on the team in tackles, having tallied more than 100 stops for the second time in his career ... started every game except the regular-season finale at UCF (Nov. 28) at middle linebacker ... began the season with an 11-tackle performance at Iowa (Aug. 30) that included seven solo stops and 1.5 quarterback sacks ... recorded 11 stops, including a season-high nine solo stops, and a tackle for loss in Sept. 20 defeat of Colorado State ... made 10 stops, including a quarterback sack and fumble recovery in defeat of Cincinnati (Sept. 27) ... amassed a season-best 15 tackles against Bowling Green (Nov. 4) ... returned after missing the UCF game with an injury to post six solo stops and a quarterback hurry in MAC title game defeat of Bowling Green (Dec. 4).
2002 Season
Played in 11 games, missing one contest because of an ankle injury ... finished third on the team in tackles, totaling 91 stops and 57 solo hits ... made a team-high 14 tackles in season-opening defeat of North Carolina (Aug. 31) ... notched six games with double-digit tackles ... made nine solo stops in Sept. 28 defeat of Akron ... made 12 tackles, including nine solo hits, in Oct. 26 win at Toledo ... snagged second interception of his career in win at Buffalo on Oct. 19 ... ranked 24th in the MAC with his 8.3 tackle-per-game average.
2001 Season
Garnered first-team all-MAC honors ... ranked 12th in the MAC in tackles per game (10.3 tpg) ... first on the team with 124 total tackles, including a team-best 57 assisted tackles ... his 67 solo takedowns ranked third on the team ... made double-digit tackles in seven of 12 games ... registered a season-high 17 tackles at Ohio ... picked off his first career interception against Western Michigan ... posted 14 tackles, including seven solos at Michigan.
2000 Season
Finished second in the MAC Freshman of the Year voting behind Ball State's Talmadge Hill ... landed a spot on The Sporting News' Freshmen all-America team (third team) ... led the nation in tackles per game for true freshmen with an 11.75 average ... ranked second in the MAC in tackle average ... would have ranked 12th nationally if he would have played in one more game ... did not play in first three games (coaching staff's plan was to originally redshirt him) ... earned MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his career-high 23 tackles (personal-best 16 solos) as well as two sacks and a forced fumble in the 27-24 come-from-behind win over Ohio ... the forced fumble came in the final seconds when Ohio was trying to move into field goal range and force a tie ... tallied 21 tackles, including 12 solos vs. Ball State ... recorded double-digit tackle totals in last six games.
High School
Led Mehlville to Class 5A Missouri state championship in 1999 ... notched 92 tackles, 41 assists, 12 sacks, 29 tackles-for-loss, six fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles during senior campaign ... also amassed 332 yards and 8 touchdowns on 32 rushes ... garnered first-team all-Suburban West, all-district, all-metro, all-region and all-state accolades in 1999... named Suburban West, District, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Missouri 5A Defensive Player of the Year in 1999 ... coached by Gary Heyde ... also captained Panther basketball team as a point guard.
