SCOUTING REPORT: Deadlocked in a battle with Jordain Brown to be Miami's starting nose tackle ... coaches call him "a tough Chicago kid who comes to work every day" ... from the start of spring practice until the end, he was one of the RedHawks' most consistent linemen ... when he's in the lineup, he quarterbacks the defensive line ... a powerful player who plays with excellent technique ... recognizes splits and backfield sets, and that makes him a faster player.

2010: Appeared in 13 games, earning his second varsity letter ... recorded six tackles, including 1.5 TFLs ... had a season-best three tackles, all solos, and one TFL at Cincinnati ... Johns and his teammates ranked 25th in rushing defense (127.6 ypg), 26th in pass efficiency defense and 28th in total defense (338.2 ypg).
