SCOUTING REPORT: Earned his third varsity letter in 2009 ... enters fall drills as Brandon Brooks's back-up at left offensive guard ... due to a nagging leg injury, he won't be called upon to play every snap of every game ... takes command of the offensive line when he's in the game ... ranks first on the team in the bench max (465 pounds) and is tied for third in the power clean max (330 pounds) ... he's a member of the team's Leadership Committee ... the coaching staff wants to keep him healthy ... served as an intern on Miami's athletic marketing staff this past summer.

2009: Was a starter the last 11 games of the season, playing in all 12 contests ... the RedHawk offensive unit started slowly in its first three games, but averaged 374 yards per contest during the last nine.

2008: Injured part of the season, he appeared in eight games, starting six times ... RedHawk coaches rated him as an 83 percent blocker, crediting him with 47 knockdowns, eight pins and three championship performances.

2007: Saw action in 11 games, earning starts at right guard against Minnesota, Cincinnati and Syracuse ... participated in 354 snaps, grading out at 79 percent ... allowed only two sacks ... recorded 41 knock-downs and four pins ... coaches gave him three championship performances (grading higher than 80 percent, no penalties and no sacks).

2006: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterwinner and two-way starter on the Berea offensive and defensive lines, serving as team captain his final year ... three-time all-conference performer ... coached by Bob Cistolo.
