SCOUTING REPORT: Originally a walkon, he enters fall drills as a regular at defensive end ... a very physical and athletic player who has the ability to be an impact performer ... coaches say that having been put in the position to earn everything he's gained is going to pay off for Will this year ... becoming more comfortable with undertaking a leadership responsibility.

2010: In 12 games, he had 12 tackles, including three quarterback sacks (-22 yards) and one other tackle for loss ... he deflected two passes at the line of scrimmage and recorded a forced fumble in Miami's victory at Akron ... Diaz and his teammates ranked nationally in rushing defense (25th, 127.6 ypg), in pass efficiency defense (26th) and in total defense (28th, 338.2 ypg).

2009: Earned his first varsity letter, appearing in 11 games ... he earned starting assignments against Northern Michigan, Temple and Bowling Green ... accumulated 17 tackles and 0.5 TFL ... one of his best efforts came in Miami's narrow loss to Temple when he totaled three solo tackles and forced an Owl fumble.

2008: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letter winner as a defensive end and wide receiver ... accounted for 88 tackles and 17 quarterback sacks his senior year, winning all-conference honors ... captained both the football and baseball squads ... coached by Jeff Jones.
