SCOUTING REPORT: He will be the team's top "Z" receiver, lining up on the same side as the tight end ... coaches call him a big, physical "football player" who does a great job finishing plays after making the catch ... extremely smart player who quicly comprehends the plays that need to be made ... spectacular hands who does a great job of catching the ball outside of his body ... a great blocker .. creates havoc with the opposing defenses because of his intense competitive nature ... leads by example.

2011: Appeared in all 12 games, starting in all but one as a wide receiver ... had 43 receptions for 391 yards and four touchdowns ... caught at least two passes in every game, reaching a high of five in two games.

2010: His Miami career highlight came at Central Michigan when he hauled in a 71-yard game-winning touchdown pass from Zac Dysert with just 19 seconds remaining in the game, giving the RedHawks a 27-20 victory. Altogether against CMU, he had eight receptions for 179 yards (22.4 ypr). Yardage-wise, Cruse's effort was then the sixth-best receiving day in Miami history. He also scored on a 10-yard pass against the Chippewas ... his next-best effort was vs. Colorado State when he grabbed five catches for 40 yards ... also had four catches for 28 yards in Miami's victory over Kent State ... for the season, he caught a career-best 25 passes for 342 yards, an average of 13.7 yards per catch.

2009: Appeared in 11 games, garnering seven consecutive starts late in the season ... he had 18 receptions for 248 yards, all coming in the last seven games of `09 ... recorded a team-high average of 13.8 yards per catch ... 13 of his 18 receptions for were for 10 yards or more, including a one-handed grab for 29 yards in Miami's victory over Toledo ... he also had a 10-yard touchdown reception against the Rockets.

2008: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: A standout athlete at Cincinnati's Turpin High, he captained the Spartans' football and basketball teams ... holds every receiving record at top-rated Turpin, grabbing 63 passes for 1,182 yards and 14 touchdowns last season, and 130 catches for 2,652 yards and 33 TDs over his career ... he and fellow Miami recruit Luke Kelly led the Spartans to a cumulative record of 24-3 their last two seasons ... earned all-conference, all-city, all-district and all-state honors ... prep coach was Rob Stoll.

PERSONAL: Born January 13, 1990 ... son of Mark and Lauren Cruse ... Andy's sister, Ashley, runs cross country and track at the University of South Carolina ... Andy wants to become a teacher and coach ... majors in special education at Miami.
