CEDRIC CORMIER (kor-mee-AIR) was named wide receivers coach at Miami University on February 17, 2009.
The 29-year-old Cormier had served as wide receivers coach at the University of Montana for the past two seasons.
Prior to working at Montana, Cormier was an assistant coach at Baytown (Texas) High School, working with the wide receivers and serving as the special teams coordinator for two seasons. He was the wide receivers coach at Channelview (Texas) High School during the 2004 season.
As a player at Colorado, he was a four-year letter winner (1998-2001) and a two-year starter at wide receiver and as a kickoff returner. The Buffaloes won the Big 12 Championship in 2001 and ranked among the conference leaders in several offensive categories. Cormier played in 38 career games at Colorado, catching 52 passes and averaging more than 10 yards per grab.
Cormier was a first-team all-state quarterback at Houston's North Shore High School in 1996, also earning All-Greater Houston honors and being selected as the Houston Touchdown Club's Offensive Player of the Year.
Cormier and his wife, Roshelle, have two children, Dean and Danielle.
