CLEVELAND--After averaging 17.5 points per game at the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer, Miami University senior forward Michael Bramos (Harper Woods, Mich./Grosse Pointe North) was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning (Nov. 17).
Bramos amassed 22 points against No. 4 UCLA and became the 33rd player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points in the game against the Bruins. It was the 15th 20-point scoring effort of his career. Bramos' 22 points led all players in a game that went down to the wire against the top-5 team.
Bramos had two steals against the Bruins while shooting 43.8 percent from the field. He also recorded 13 points in a 70-66 season-opening win against Weber State. With four treys last week, Bramos moved into tenth on Miami's career 3-point field goal list (131).
The honor is the fourth weekly MAC award Bramos has earned during his career.
Miami plays its second top-10 opponent in five days tonight when the RedHawks battle the No. 5/6 Pittsburgh Panthers at 7 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pa.
