OXFORD, Ohio—In its final tune up before the start of the regular season, Miami University’s men’s basketball team hosts Saginaw Valley State in an exhibition game at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8. Admission is free to the exhibition game.
The game is the second of a women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader with Miami’s women’s basketball team hosting Tiffin at 1 p.m.
Last weekend, senior guard Kenny Hayes and junior guard Rodney Haddix II exploded for 22 and 20 points, respectively, as Miami posted an 82-65 exhibition win against the California (Pa.) Vulcans.
Miami shot an impressive 69.2 percent from the field in the second half, lifting it to a .536 shooting percentage for the game, while 47 second-half points propelled the RedHawks to the win. The RedHawks' 3-point shooting also was sharp over the final 20 minutes, sinking 7-of-12 (.583).

The RedHawks open the 2009-10 campaign at Towson on Friday, Nov. 13 and then play at Kentucky on Monday, Nov. 16. After a tournament at New Mexico Nov. 20-22, Miami hosts Evansville in its home opener at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28.
