OXFORD, Ohio—In its first tune up before the start of the regular season, Miami University’s men’s basketball team hosts California (Pa.) in an exhibition game at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1. Admission is free to the exhibition game.
This game marks the return of senior guard Kenny Hayes, who was sidelined after playing in just eight games last year due to a season-ending wrist injury and received a medical redshirt allowing him to return this season. Hayes, who is one of the Mid-American Conference’s top returning players, was named to the East Division Preseason All-MAC Team earlier this week.
Miami returns nine letterwinners, including three starters from last year’s team. Also returning this season are starters Adam Fletcher (senior center) and Antonio Ballard (junior guard/forward). Fletcher finished the 2008-09 season ranked among MAC statistical leaders in league-only games in rebounding, blocked shots and offensive rebounds. Ballard, who sat out 2007-08 with a foot injury and also was sidelined for several weeks in 2008-09 with a hand injury, finished last season ranked among MAC statistical leaders in league games in field-goal percentage, rebounding and defensive rebounds.
On Sunday, Nov. 8, the RedHawks play the second game of a women's and men's basketball exhibition doubleheader, entertaining Saginaw Valley State at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Season tickets are available for the RedHawks’ 13-game home slate with discounted rates for Miami University faculty and staff. To purchase tickets today, contact the Miami University ticket office at 1-866-MUHAWKS or 513-529-HAWK or click HERE.
