Adam Fletcher--July 15, 2008
So far, my summer is going great. I was able to finish my last chemistry requirement to get me one step closer to completing my exercise science degree. Only taking one summer course gave me a lot of time to work on my body to begin getting in the type of shape I will need to be in for next years season. I am on a strict diet that will allow my body to perform at its highest levels in everyday work outs.
I believe that the summer is the best time to make big improvements on your game. This being the first summer that I have not been injured (Summer 2006 right ACL reconstruction/Summer 2007 left ankle debridement), I think that everyone is going to be surprised with the Adam Fletcher they see next season.
I am volunteering at a physical therapy center in my hometown of St. Albans, West Virginia. I plan on pursuing a career in physical therapy, and in order to get accepted into a physical therapy school you must have 60 volunteer hours at a physical therapy center. This is very interesting for me because I have been in the same shoes as the patients I work with. I know what it's like to recover from a major injury, and watching the patient's progress is very fulfilling.
Next week I am going on a family vacation to Garden City Beach in South Carolina. I am very excited to get to the beach for a week of relaxation. I don't have any other plans for the summer, but I hope to get back to Oxford before school starts for a weekend to hang out with Sean Mock.
This is a continuation of a series of updates from the Miami University men's basketball players throughout the summer.
