OXFORD, Ohio--Miami University's men's basketball program has received a national-letter of intent from 6-foot, 180-pound point guard Kramer Soderberg (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles West), RedHawk interim head coach Jermaine Henderson announced on Tuesday (May 20).

"We're excited about the addition of Kramer Soderberg to the program," said Henderson. "We feel he will help us tremendously at the point guard position."

Soderberg was a two-time all-state selection at St. Charles West High School, being named conference player of the year three times and earning all-conference accolades four times. In 2008, Soderberg was tabbed the Gatorade Player of the Year in Missouri and also was named the Saint Louis Post Dispatch Player of the Year.

He guided the Warriors to four conference titles, district championships in 2004-05 and 2007-08 and a Missouri State Class 4 final four appearance in 2007-08. During his senior campaign, St. Charles West compiled a record of 30-2. A four-year letterwinner and three-time captain, Soderberg helped the Warriors to a combined 100-18 record during his prep career.

As a senior, Soderberg averaged 24.4 points per game and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 46 percent from 3-point range and 85.4 percent from the free-throw line.

"Kramer a tireless worker," added Henderson. "He's a great student who comes from a great family. He comes with a great work ethic that will blend with our Miami Basketball Family and our current players. We believe he will not only be a great addition for next year with a senior-led group, but we also look for great things from Kramer in the years to come with Miami Basketball."

A scholarship became available in the spring when sophomore Alex Moosmann decided to transfer.

Soderberg joins Julian Mavunga, who signed a national letter of intent with the RedHawks in the fall, as Miami's 2008 recruiting class.
