THE GAME
Fresh off midweek wins, Miami and Toledo meet Saturday in Millett Hall. Miami head coach Charlie Coles celebrated his 60th birthday last Wednesday with the RedHawks' second true road win of the season as Miami (9-12, 6-4 Mid-American Conference) topped Buffalo, 66-52. Both of Miami's road wins have come in conference action. Toledo posted a 58-42 triumph over Central Michigan at home on Wednesday to improve to 8-11 overall and 5-5 in MAC action.
Toledo and Miami are very similar road teams as both have just two league wins away from their respective home courts. After posting two straight MAC road wins (73-64 at Western Michigan, 85-60 at Eastern Michigan), the Rockets have dropped their last four road contests. Miami, on the other hand, has won all four of its home league games and is on a seven-game MAC win streak at Millett Hall.
Terry Reynolds paces the Rockets, averaging 14.1 points per game in all contests and 17.1 ppg in league play. Nick Moore is second, producing 14.0 ppg in MAC games.
Doug Davis continues to be Miami's main offensive threat, notching a team-best 16.9 ppg in MAC games. He has scored in double figures in every conference contest. Davis also boasts the league's fourth best assist/turnover ratio (1.71). Eugene Seals has been a very consistent performer offensively and defensively for the RedHawks over the past four games, nearly averaging a double-double with 9.0 ppg and 9.5 rebounds per game.
