OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Despite a sizzling start in which Miami (3-7) drilled all five of its three-point attempts over the first five minutes of the game, a 10-minute scoring slump to end the first half and start the second half was too much to overcome as the RedHawks fell to Evansville (4-5), 66-58.

Ian Hanavan scored 16 points to lead the Purple Aces.

Miami led the entire first half, but that lead had been cut to only one point by halftime after Evansville closed on a 7-0 run. The RedHawks were ahead 32-24 at the 6:38 mark, but Dan Lytle scored on a 3-pointer with 4:19 remaining. Jordan Watson added two free throws, and a dunk by Larry Ferguson finished scoring for the half, leaving Miami with only a 32-31 lead.

Evansville, which made 16 of its last 17 free throws, was 88 percent in free-throw shooting, compared with 79 percent by Miami. Evansville outrebounded Miami 33-22 and shot 47 percent from the field, compared with 38 percent by Miami.

Lytle added 12 points for Evansville, and Andre Burton scored 11.

Juby Johnson led Miami's scoring with a game-high 17 points. Danny Horace and Gene Seals each added 12 points.
