HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - David Anderson and Ronald Blackshear each scored 15 points to lead Marshall to a 58-51 win over Miami University Saturday night and clench a first-round home game in the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

Marshall's 17-6 run during the final six minutes pushed the Thundering Herd (13-14, 9-9 MAC) to a win.

Marshall took the lead for good with 4:42 on A.W. Hamilton's free throws to make the score 46-45.

A win for Miami (13-14, 11-7) would have given them a share of the MAC-East Division crown. However, Miami still has a first-round bye in next week's conference tournament. The RedHawks are the No. 3 seed and will face the winner of the No. 6 Akron/No. 11 Ohio game, which will be played on Monday, March 10 at Akron, at 2 p.m. on Thursday March 13 at Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Miami shot 31 percent from the floor in the final period, while Marshall shot 59 percent.

Juby Johnson scored a game-high 17 points for Miami and Chet Mason added 16 points and 11 rebounds.
