MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Theron Smith had 18 points and 12 rebounds as Ball State clinched at least a share of the Mid-American Conference West Division title with a 74-58 victory over Miami on Saturday.

Smith scored 14 points in the second half to ensure his 17th double-double of the season and his 11th in the last 15 games.

Patrick Jackson added 17 points, including four 3-pointers, for Ball State (18-9, 11-5), while Chris Williams had 14 and Robert Owens 11.

Chester Mason led Miami (11-16, 8-8) with 14 points, and Juby Johnson had 12.

The Cardinals closed the first half with a 16-3 run for a 38-25 lead. Ball State connected on six 3-pointers in the final seven minutes of the first half.

The Cardinals increased their lead to 19 points midway through the second half with a 13-2 run.
