DEKALB, Ill. (AP) - Juby Johnson and Eugene Seals each posted their first career double-doubles, but it was not enough to overcome the solid three-point shooting by the Huskies in the second half as Miami fell at Northern Illinois, 78-70. Johnson notched a game-best 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Seals posted 12 points and a game-high 16 boards. Doug Davis also tallied 20 points for the RedHawks.

The Huskies (6-9, 2-4 Mid-American Conference) were up 30-25 at the half despite hitting just 39.7 percent from the field. They were better from 3-point range, shooting 50 percent, and from the free-throw line, making 64.9 percent.

P.J. Smith scored 22 points Tuesday night, leading Northern Illinois. The only other Husky to score in double digits was Leon Rodgers, with 16 points. Northern Illinois got 16 points off turnovers.

The RedHawks (7-11, 4-3) hit 40.4 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from 3-point range and 74.3 percent from the free-throw line.
