OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Danny Horace scored 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting to lead Miami University to a 74-59 victory over Akron on Monday night.

Josh Hausfeld added 19 points for Miami (6-9, 4-2 MAC). Derrick Tarver led Akron (7-7, 2-3) with 20 points.

The RedHawks never trailed after Chet Mason's jumper made it 6-5 with 14:20 left in the first half, part of a 16-2 run. Miami built a 32-21 lead by halftime and maintained a double-digit lead most of the rest of the way.

Miami had a number of season highs. The RedHawks shot 58 percent from the field (28-of-48), had 16 assists and out-rebounded Akron 35-19.

Akron's 21 first-half points tied a season low, and the 59 total points was the low for the season.
