• Junior guard/forward Michael Bramos, senior forward Tim Pollitz and junior guard Kenny Hayes all scored in double figures for Miami. Bramos finished with 23 points, Pollitz finished with 18 points and Hayes added 16 points.

• Kent State's Al Fisher, Haminn Quaintance, Chris Singletary and Mike Scott all scored in double figures. The Golden Flashes shot 62.9 percent (22-of-35) from the field for the game.

• Bramos finished with 23 points, his fourth 20-plus scoring effort of the season. Bramos scored 28 points versus South Alabama on Nov. 22, 30 points against Mississippi State on Nov. 25 and 36 points against Dayton on Nov. 28.

• Kent State's Al Fisher set a new career-high with 21 points. His previous high was 17 points against George Mason on Dec. 8, 2007.

• Kent State's Haminn Quantance finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds, his fifth double-double of the season.

• The RedHawks went on an 11-2 run from the 11:25 mark of the second half to the 9:31 mark to cut Kent State's lead to 12 points, 42-54. Bramos scored eight of the 11 Miami points.

• Over the final eight minutes of the first half, Kent State went on a 14-5 run to take a 39-23 lead into the half. Kent State shot 70.0 percent (14-of-20) from the field in the first half compared to 41.7 (10-of-24) for Miami.

Tim Pollitz scored 11 of Miami's 23 first-half points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field. Fisher scored 13 first-half points for Kent State.

• Kent State shot 9-of-12 from the field in the opening 11 minutes of action resulting in a 24-16 lead for the Golden Flashes with 9:00 remaining in the first half.

• Freshman guard Rodney Haddix played in his second game of the season and saw a season-high eight minutes of action.
