Administrative Assistant

Chris Thomas enters his second season as an administrative assistant with the Miami men's basketball program. He is a vital part of the day-to-day operations for Miami Basketball and oversees film exchange, film edits, study tables and team travel arrangements.

Thomas came to Miami in August of 2005 after spending two years as the head assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. During his two years with the Mountain Cats, Thomas helped the team to a 32-20 record, while coaching three All-Independent League First-Team selections, two All-Independent League Second-Team picks and the league's 2005 Freshman of the Year. Thomas wore many hats at Pitt Johnstown, serving as the team's recruiting coordinator, academic coordinator and being responsible for scouting all 52 opponents and also developing more than 200 individual guard and post player improvement sessions.

Prior to his time at Pitt Johnstown, Thomas spent three seasons with the University of Dayton men's basketball program while he was an undergraduate at Dayton. He assisted the coaching staff with individual player workouts, ran the video exchange, maintained the video library and wrote opponent scouting reports. While at Dayton, the Flyers compiled a 66-30 record, including two trips to the Postseason National Invitation Tournament and an appearance in the 2003 NCAA Tournament.

A native of Kettering, Ohio, Thomas prepped at Archbishop Alter High School where he was a two-time letterwinner in basketball. He helped Archbishop Alter to a state title during his senior campaign.

Thomas earned his bachelor's degree in sports management with a minor in journalism from Dayton in May 2003.
