Earlier this month junior Michael Carlin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) added another accolade to his list of accomplishments when he was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-America third team. Carlin also was a Mid-American Conference all-tournament and first team selection this season, and a member of the Mideast Region First Team.

Carlin earns all-America honors after belting out a team-high 19 home runs this season. His four home run performance against Eastern Michigan in the MAC Tournament set both Miami and MAC single-game records. Twice this season Carlin belted three round-trippers in a contest, and he also finished tied with three other RedHawks with four triples. His three-run home run in the 10th inning at Northern Kentucky (March 5) gave the Red and White a 19-15 victory. He wraps up his third season at Miami with a .345 batting average and .704 slugging percentage, while moving into a tie for sixth all-time with 25 dingers.
