OXFORD, Ohio - The American Baseball Coaches Association and Ohio head coach Joe Carbone, chairman of the NCAA Mideast Region All-American Committee, have announced the 2009 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Mideast Region First and Second Teams.

Two RedHawks were recognized by the committee as part of the All-Mideast Region Teams.

Miami senior first baseman Tommy Nurre (Cincinnati, Ohio), a recent draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds, was named a first-team selection. Nurre led the RedHawks with a .406 avg to go along with 17 home runs and 54 RBI. He also led the team in slugging percentage (.757) and on-base percentage (.498). Nurre was also a first-team All-MAC selection, making it his second consecutive season with All-MAC honors (2008 second-team All-MAC).

Miami sophomore right fielder Adam Eaton (Springfield, Ohio), was also honored by the committee by being named a second-team selection. Eaton had a spectacular sophomore season in which he hit .350 with 11 home runs and 48 RBI. He was also 28-of-29 in stolen base attempts and led the team in runs scored with 67. Eaton also reached base in all but one of the team's 53, while generating a .468 on-base percentage. Along with Nurre and senior pitcher Matt Erwood (Atlanta, Ga.), Eaton was also a first-team All-MAC selection in 2009.
