CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (March 25) -- Miami University's baseball team notched its second-straight 10-run outburst en route to a 10-5 victory over Austin Peay Sunday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park. With the victory, the RedHawks completed a two-game sweep in their first series with the Governors.

Miami burst out of the gates early to gain a 4-0 lead after two innings. Brady Nori (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) collected the biggest hit, a two-run single up the middle in the second, to cap the RedHawks' early scoring.

The RedHawks went on to post a run in both the fifth and sixth innings, including Jason Knoedler's (Springfield, Ill./Springfield/Lincoln Land C.C.) fourth home run of the season in the sixth, to stretch their advantage to 6-0.

Miami (10-9) put the game away in the seventh, scoring four runs on three hits to grab a decisive 10-0 lead. Zach Schmidt (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) drove in the RedHawks' final two runs with a single to center field.

Judd Richardson (Caledon, Ontario/Country Day) allowed only one hit over six innings to earn the victory, upping his season record to 2-1. Russ Bayer (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) gave up just one hit in three innings to earn his first career save. Despite allowing just two hits, Miami pitchers walked twelve Austin Peay (15-9) batters.

Tom Yost (London, Ohio/Jonathan Alder) led Miami's offensive efforts, going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

Above .500 for the first time this season, Miami travels to Xavier Tuesday for a non-conference battle. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
