BUFFALO, N.Y. - Junior J.D. Mynhier went 4-for-5 from the plate and had four RBIs as Miami University's baseball team took the final game of a three-game series from the Buffalo Bulls, 10-8, in Mid-American Conference action Sunday afternoon. The RedHawks improved to 12-25 overall and 4-11 in conference action, while the Bulls fell to 10-24 and 4-10 in MAC play.
Both teams went scoreless in the first inning, before two doubles manufactured Miami's first run of the game. Junior Tommy Nurre led off the second frame with a double to left field and two batters later, Nurre touched home plate on a double by Mynhier, giving Miami a 1-0 lead.
Buffalo tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning, but the RedHawks quickly jumped back ahead in the third inning. Junior Jordan Petraitis came to the plate with two outs and hit a solo home run to left-center field, pushing the RedHawks back on top, 2-1. The home run was Petraitis' fifth home run of the season.
Miami tacked on another run in the fourth inning courtesy of another Mynhier double. Nurre and junior Eric Darlage started things off with back-to-back walks bringing Mynhier to the dish. Mynhier collected his second double of the day with a two-bagger down the left field line, scoring Nurre and advancing Darlage to third. Unfortunately for Miami, a strike out, an infield pop up and a fly out ended the scoring threat, but Miami took a 3-1 lead into the fifth inning.
Despite leaving two runners on base in the previous inning, Miami capitalized in the fifth inning scoring three runs on four hits. Lead-off hitter, senior Evan Armitage, singled and advanced to third base on a single by Petraitis. Junior Chris Nadeau drove in his first run of the game with a sacrifice fly to center field, plating Armitage and moving Petraitis into scoring position at second base. Nurre increased the Miami lead to 5-1 after drilling a double into right field. Two batters later, Mynhier converted for the third time in the game with an RBI single that pushed the RedHawk cushion to 6-1.

The RedHawks return home for a game against Indiana State on Tuesday, April 22, before heading to Cincinnati to play Xavier at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23.
