Bradenton, Fla. - Sophomore right-hander Brad Bachman (1-0) threw a complete-game six hitter to end Miami's six-game losing streak as the RedHawks shutout St. Francis (N.Y.) 6-0 today in Bradenton, Fla.

The start was Bachman's first of the year and just the second of his career. In nine innings of work, Bachman threw just 93 pitches, striking out two and walking just one. The win was the first of his career. He now owns a team-best 1.26 ERA in 14.1 innings.

The Miami offense, which has shown signs of getting out of its slump the last two days, rang up six runs on St. Francis, scoring twice in the first and four in the fourth. Brendan Hadley, Brian Canada, George Stegmiller and Zach Schmidt led the charge, each posting multi-hit games. The foursome led the bottom half of the Miami order, going a combined 11-for-21 in the game. The RedHawks' 12 hits equaled their season high.

Miami (4-8) takes on Patriot League foe Bucknell University tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the IMG Academy in Bradenton.
