The Beavers eventually expanded their lead to 5-2 with runs in the third and the fifth, but Miami came back to within two runs when Hula doubled down the right field line with one out in the seventh, scoring Nadeau, narrowing the gap to 5-3.
The Beavers, however, took advantage of an error and a passed ball to plate three runs on three hits in the top of the eighth to give themselves some breathing room.
