2002 Started in 18 games behind the plate and played in 24 overall before breaking his left-hand pinky finger at Indiana (April 9) ... was leading the RedHawks in batting average with a .420 clip at the time of his injury ... recorded his first career hit in his first game at Kentucky (March 1) ... started the season on a six-game hitting streak, batting 11-for-20 with two doubles and a home run ... his first career home run came at Cincinnati (March 7) ... crossed the plate three times against both Cincinnati and Iona (March 10) ... at the time of his injury, he was in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak ... during this eight-game stretch he was batting .538 (14-26) with six RBI, seven runs scored and one home run ... was a perfect 8-for-8 on the basepaths in his first 24 games.
