A six-year coaching veteran, Nick Otte begins his third season on the RedHawk coaching staff as the volunteer assistant coach. Otte's responsibilities include serving as outfield coach, video analysis of pitchers and hitters, coordinating pitchers strength and power program and position players speed development program, and coordinating many of the team's camps.

Otte brings a wealth of baseball experience to Oxford, including a two-year stint as the pitching coach at IPFW.

While at IPFW, Otte helped the Mastodon pitchers turn in 14 complete games in 2004, which ranked 13th nationally. His hurlers posted an earned-run average of 4.86.

Otte's coaching resume also includes two years (2004-06) at Georgetown College (NAIA) in Georgetown, Ky., where he was the team's pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. While at Georgetown, he helped guide the Tigers to their first winning campaign in three seasons and mentored the Mid-South Conference and Region XI Player of the Year.

As a student-athlete, Otte earned four letters as a member of the baseball team at Indiana University and ranks in IU's career top 10 in wins with 17. His eight victories in both 1999 and 2001 rank him seventh on the single-season list.

Otte and his wife, Erin, reside in Mason, with their daughters, Anna (2) and Paige (9 months).
