HIGH SCHOOL
A four-year letterwinner at shortstop for the Carl Sandburg HIgh School baseball team ... his 24 stolen bases in 2002 set the school single-season record, and he led the team in hits (57), RBI (29), batting average (.449) and home runs (5) ... an all-conference, all-area, and all-state selection his senior year ... his team won the 2002 state championship.
