CLEVELAND - The
Mid-American Conference announced its All-MAC teams for volleyball on Thursday.
For Miami, sophomore Meg Riley (St.
Louis, Mo.) earned First Team honors. It is the first All-MAC honor of
her career.
Riley leads the RedHawks with 350 kills, an average of 3.30
per set. She is fifth on the team with 193 digs and second on the 'Hawks with 448
assists. A six-rotation player, she is in the setter position when in the back
row, and becomes an outside hitter in the front row. Riley's ability to do just
about everything on the court has allowed her to record eight triple-doubles on
the season. Arguably her best performance came in a three-set victory over
Eastern Michigan on Oct. 13. Despite the quickness of the match, she had 22
kills, 20 assists and 10 digs in the win. Riley is hitting a team-leading .273
for the season.
Riley is a strong student in the classroom, double-majoring
in electrical and mechanical engineering with a 3.94 GPA. She earned CoSIDA
Academic All-District V First Team honors and is eligible for Academic
All-America status. Riley won MAC East Division Offensive Player of the Week on
Oct. 15 and is a two-time winner of the MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week
award.
The Miami University volleyball team completes its 2012
season on Saturday, Nov. 24 when it hosts Cincinnati at 4 p.m.
