OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University volleyball team ran into perhaps the best team in the Mid-American Conference Thursday night as it fell to Bowling Green 0-3 (20-25, 15-25, 17-25). The RedHawks fell to 9-19 overall and 4-11 in the MAC. The Falcons are 18-9 overall and remain in first place in the MAC at 13-2.

Trailing 3-6 in set one, two kills from Madison Dodd, a service ace by Madison Hardy and a kill from Meg Riley helped Miami take an 8-7 lead. The lead traded was back three times before the teams found themselves tied at 13. A 5-2 run would put BGSU up, 18-15. Two kills from Riley off of Amy Kendall assists, along with kills by Lisa Treadway and Jenny Ingle were part of a 5-2 run for the 'Hawks that tied the score at 20. That would be the last points Miami would score as the Falcons closed on a 5-0 run to take a 25-20 win.

Bowling Green jumped to an 11-5 advantage to begin set two. A kill and a service ace from Riley cut the deficit to four, but the Falcons answered with an 8-4 run to take a 19-11 lead. Dodd and Treadway responded with back-to-back kills, but Miami could not get any closer as Bowling Green went on to win, 25-15.

Set three began with a big block from Christina Menche and Dodd. However, BGSU scored the next four points to take a 4-1 lead. The Falcons would hold the lead to three at 11-8, before Miami would score two straight to cut the deficit to one. The lead remained between one and three points until a kill by Menche off of Kendall's assist and a BGSU attack error tied the score at 15. The Red and White's attack would go cold from there, as Bowling Green would close out the victory on a 10-2 run, winning the final set, 25-17.

Riley led Miami with eight kills, 13 assists and seven digs. Dodd had seven kills and a team-high 10 digs. Kendall recorded 18 assists.

The RedHawks will play their final MAC match on the road on Saturday when they travel to Kalamazoo to take on Western Michigan. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
