Friday's victory raised Miami's overall record to 2-1 in dual meets.

In event one, the 200 medley relay, the quartet of LEAH THORNTON, STACIE CLAGG, MAEGAN O'CONNOR and ELLEN BARHORST collected the first-place prize of 11 points, touring the pool in 1:48.16.

Collett captured the 1000 freestyle, beating teammate STEPHANIE PEARCE by eight seconds, 10:23.88 to 10:31.81. RedHawk swimmers won the first four places in the race.

RedHawk swimmers MOLLY TYLER, MADDIE KETE, CC FUJAN and SARA KRUEGER placed 1-2-3-4 in the 200 free. Tyler edged out Kete, 1:53.70 to 1:54.40. That gave Miami a 45-10 lead after three events.

The women's 50 free was won by Miami's CYNTHIA DONOVAN in 23:96. Donovan's RedHawk teammates finished third through fifth.

Westrick, freshman AUBREY KLUTH, senior STACIE CLAGG and senior LEAH THORNTON won the top four places in the 200 individual medley. Westrick's first-place time was 2:06.38.

HOUSER won the one-meter diving event with a score of 303.67. Teammate LISA WERWINSKI was the runner-up. Houser also was victorious in the three-meter event, compiling a score of 313.80.

The seventh event was the 100 butterfly, won by Westrick in a clocking of 55.89. O'Connor and MANDI GRANDJEAN finished second and third.

Kete was the winner of the 100 freestyle, touching the wall in a time of 51.70. The RedHawks' Barhorst placed second, 1.6 seconds behind her teammate.

The women's 100 backstroke saw Miami's BRIANNA FUJAN, Thornton and EMMA SZCZUPAKIEWICZ finish in the top three positions. Fujan and Thornton both finished under one minute in times of 58.89 and 59.40, respectively.

Miami's Collett swam the fastest time in the 500 free, but it came in an exhibition performance. KATIE BLODGETT, CRISTINA FAVIA, KELLY ROGERS and EMMA CRAIG also swam exhibition races.

The 100 breaststroke times for Clagg (1:05.82), Wagner (1:07.17) and Gabbie Pettinichi (1:08.54) all were swum in exhibition efforts.

The women's final event was the 400 freestyle relay and all of Miami's times were exhibition performances. The top time of 3:31.23 was posted by the relay team of Westrick, Kete, Krueger and Donovan.

"Our girls swam real solid races today," said RedHawk coach Dave Jennings. "Molly Tyler stood out today in the 200 free. We continue to move forward in our aerobic training."

Miami's next women's swimming meet is Friday (Nov. 2) at Bowling Green.
