CLEVELAND -
The
Mid-American Conference announced its weekly volleyball awards on Monday.
Redshirt freshman Jenny Ingle (Ludlow Falls, Ohio) was named the MAC East
Division Offensive Player of the Week. It is the first weekly MAC award of her
career.
Ingle was Miami's leading offensive attacker with an
impressive .478 hitting percentage on the weekend. She had a total of 26 kills
in two matches, including a career-high tying 15 kills in only three sets in a
win against Toledo on Friday. In that match she hit .636. She added another 11
kills in a dramatic five-set victory over Ball State on Saturday. Ingle made
only four attack errors in 46 attempts on the weekend and when you add in her
blocking scored 31.5 points, an average of 3.94 per set.
It is the second straight week that a Miami player has earned this
award, as sophomore Meg Riley won it last Monday.
Miami looks to keep its three-game winning streak going as
it hits the road for a pair of matches this week. On Friday, the RedHawks
travel to Ohio to take on the Bobcats at 7 p.m. They will then head to Kent
State on Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest.
