Flashback: Playing on
"The Blue"
Miami senior quarterback Zac Dysert hopes today's game against
Boise State has a different outcome than the last time the two teams played.
In their only other meeting in 2009, the RedHawks lost to
the Broncos 48-0, as Kellen Moore threw for over 300 yards and 4 TDs. Dysert,
who was just a freshman, completed 2 of 4 passes for one yard and had two INTs
in a late-game appearance.
"I just remember it being very loud, a lot louder than I
expected, especially for the amount of people that were there," the senior said
about playing at Bronco Stadium, which now holds 37,000 fans. "They have a
track around the field too, so it's not like they are right on top of you
either."
Even though Miami didn't score a single point in the game, Dysert
said playing on the blue turf was an "awesome experience."
And if you've ever wondered if the Boise State players and
their blue jerseys blend in with the field, the answer is yes, sometimes
they do.
"It's a lot different being on the field than it is looking
from the stands," Dysert said. "But they do, sometimes (blend in)... It kind of
just looks like a blur went by, you don't really see them, you kind of just see
something."
Miami (1-1) plays Boise State (0-1) today at 4 p.m. (ET)
The game is being broadcasted on NBC Sports Network.
