Reed Schuitema became Miami University's Co-Director of Football Operations in January of 2011, joining the staff of Head Coach Don Treadwell. Now in his second year, he holds the title of Director of Football Operations.

In his role, Schuitema handles many of the on-the-field duties and some of the many off-the field responsibilities.

A native of Muskegon, Mich., Schuitema earned both his bachelor's (2009) and master's degrees (2010) from Michigan State University.

Most recently, he served as MSU's graduate assistant in football operations, assisting Coach Mark Dantonio's Spartans with training table, ticket operations, youth camps, bowl game preparation and other details.

As an undergraduate, he was a student manager for Coach Tom Izzo's MSU basketball team, helping with the day-to-day operations of the program.

He attended Muskegon's Mona Shores High School, captaining the football team and also participating in hockey and tennis.
