2012: Selected by his teammates as Miami football's first-ever three-time captain ... led all MAC quarterbacks with 3483 passing yards (290.2 yards per game) and ranked second in the MAC with 312.3 yards of total offense per game ... passed for 218 yards in his final game as a RedHawk at home against Ball State, giving him 12,016 for his career and putting him at third all-time in the MAC and 20th all-time in NCAA history ... totalled 455 passing yards and four touchdowns against Kent State... threw for 311 yards and a touchdown in the win over Ohio ... against Cincinnati Zac became the 78th player in NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision history to top 10,000 career passing yards... against Akron Zac's six touchdown passes set the Miami school record, which he previously set at five, with 59 overall trailing only Roethlisberger in the Miami record books. Same game Dysert's 516 passing yards were a career high, the second most in Miami history. He was the first in Miami's history to reach 500 yards of total offense with 624 yards ... completed 78% of his passes vs. SIU (28-36) for 226 yds and 1 TD ... 31-of-53 vs. OSU, throwing for 303 yards and a TD ... Dysert became the first visiting QB to top 300 yards at Ohio Stadium since MSU's Drew Stanton in 2005.
SCOUTING REPORT: As the 2012 season continues, Miami University’s Zac Dysert ranks third behind only Oklahoma’s Landry Jones and Southern California’s Matt Barkley in career passing yardage among active college quarterbacks. Through his first three seasons with the RedHawks, Dysert has passed for 8,530 yards and with a chance to pass Ben Roethlisberger as Miami’s all-time leader. Zac is currently at 10,444 yards. He is a candidate for the 2012 Davey O’Brien Award as the nation’s premier quarterback ... he is Miami’s first-ever three-time captain ... among Miami’s quarterbacks, Dysert is the strongest bench-presser at 285 pounds.
CAREER NOTES: 78th player in NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision history to top 10,000 career passing yards, placing him second in school history behind Ben Roethlisberger’s 10,829 yards ... of the top eight all-time Miami passing performances, he has two of them (426 yards vs. Temple in 2009 and 399 vs. CMU in 2010) ... Zac’s .641 career completion percentage is second only to Ben Roethlisberger’s .655 ... in 30 career starts, he’s averaged 273 passing yards per game ... of Miami’s top ten single-game total offense yardage leaders, he has the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth-best outings. 2011: Started all 12 games as Miami’s quarterback ... threw for 3,513 yards (second on MU all-time single-season list) and 23 touchdowns ... ranked 11th in the country with 292.75 passing yards per game and 17th in the country with a completion percentage of .6585 ... his top passing yardage efforts came vs. Western Michigan (413 yards and 3 TDs), at Ohio (372 yards & 1 TD), at Temple (364 yards & 3 TDs, including 322 yards in the second half), vs. Army (342 yards & 4 TDs), at Toledo (333 yards & 2 TDs), at Minnesota (325 yards & 2 TDs), and vs. Buffalo (313 yards & 5 TDs) ... in his last five games of 2011, he had completion percentages of .800 vs. Buffalo (20-of-25), .632 vs. Akron (12-of-19), .756 at Temple (28-of-37), .778 vs. WMU (42-of-54) and .660 at Ohio (35-of-53), a cumulative five-game passing percentage of .729 ... Miami’s passing game averaged 299 yards per contest, a figure that ranked 14th among 120 Division 1 teams.
2010: Started the first 10 games of the season before being knocked out of the lineup against Bowling Green when he suffered a lacerated spleen ... he made it back for the GoDaddy.com Bowl, serving as holder for placekicks ... completed 64.7 percent of his passes (222-for-343) for 2,406 yards, an average of 240.6 per start, ranking fourth among MAC QBs ... he had 13 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions ... his 399-yard effort at CMU (29-for-47) tied for the seventh-best single-game performance in Miami history. One of his three TD passes that day was a game-winning 71-yarder to Andy Cruse with just 19 seconds left in regulation. Including nine yards rushing vs. CMU, his total offense yardage of 408 ranks ninth-best in school history ... a 332-yard passing effort vs. Ohio, including an 81-yard pass to Nick Harwell, was his next-best performance ... he averaged 296 passing yards per game in his last four starts of 2010 ... passed for 294 yards vs. Kent State, one of six efforts that was more than 200 yards ... in 2010, from the second quarter at Missouri to the second quarter vs. Ohio, Zac threw 1565 straight passes without an interception ... in consecutive game vs. Colorado State (18-for-22, .818) and at Missouri (20-for-27, .741), he completed 38-of-49 passes (.776) ... also held for Miami's placekickers in 11 contests.
2009: During the 11 games in which he took quarterback snaps (excludes season opener vs. Kentucky), he averaged 237.3 passing yards per contest, a figure that ranked him fourth among 2009 Mid-American Conference QBs. Zac attempted 401 passes as compared to Bowling Green's Tyler Sheehan (575 attempts for 311.6 yards per game), Western Michigan's Tim Hiller (514 atts. for 270.8 ypg) and Central Michigan's Dan LeFevour (456 atts. for 245.6 ypg). Dysert is the only one of the four QBs who returns in 2010 ... the MAC's best redshirt freshman threw for 2,611 yards in 2009 ... he had a career-best performance at Temple, passing for 426 yards and three touchdowns on 31-of-51 tosses. His single-game yardage was the fourth-best all-time effort in Miami history, behind Ben Roethlisberger's top-three games as a RedHawk (525 yards, 452 yards and 440 yards) ... Zac's 438 yards of total offense vs. Temple is eighth-best all-time at Miami ... in his nine starts, Dysert averaged 282 yards passing per game which would have ranked second in the MAC a year ago ... he threw for 337 yards against Kent State in his first start, then followed up that performance with a 286-yard effort against 10th-ranked Cincinnati ... in his last five games he tossed for consecutive totals of 348 yards vs. Northern Illinois, 344 yards vs. Toledo 426 vs. Temple, 259 vs. BG, and 194 vs. Buffalo, an average of 314.2 yards per game ... besides his top-four performance at Temple, he had the 19th-best (348 yards vs. NIU), 20th-best (344 yards vs. Toledo) and 23rd-best (337 yards vs. Kent State) efforts in Miami history ... in the team's only victory (31-24 vs. Toledo), Dysert had 404 yards of total offense (344 passing/60 rushing). He also was the holder for Trevor Cook's Miami-record 55-yard field goal with just :37 left in the first half. ... he completed 61.6 percent of his passes in 2009 for 2,611 yards ... 12 TDs, 16 interceptions ... team's second-leading rusher with 258 net yards ... in Dysert's very first start, he had an amazing effort vs. Kent State, passing for 337 yards (31-of-53 passes, two int., one TD) and rushing for 107 more. His 444 yards of total offense vs. KSU ranks seventh-best all-time in Miami history ... by comparison, Ben Roethlisberger's first Miami start vs. Michigan in 2001 saw him complete 18-of-35 passes (three int., two TD) for 193 yards plus 18 yards rushing ... also serves as the holder for Miami field goals and PATs.

HIGH SCHOOL: A highly-acclaimed quarterback who ranks second on Ohio prep football's all-time passing yardage list with 11,174 yards ... Ohio Coaches Association named him the winner of the 2007 Art Teynor Award as the state's all-division Player of the Year ... previous Teynor Award winners include Ben Roethlisberger and Ted Ginn, Jr. ... was named Ohio Division 6 and Northwest Conference Player of the Year ... passed for 3,714 yards and 35 TDs as a senior despite missing three-and-a-half games with a broken thumb ... during that span when he could not pass the ball, played wide receiver and linebacker for the Bulldogs ... threw 100 TD passes during his career ... also an adept runner, he compiled more than 1,000 yards on the ground with 16 TDs ... captained Ada's basketball and baseball teams ... the Bulldog basketball team was ranked No. 1 in the state in its division ... prep coach was Mike Fell.
PERSONAL: Born February 8, 1990 ... son of Greg and Carla Dysert ... he also was a hockey all-star, but gave up the sport to play football ... a four-year honor roll student ... father, Greg, played college basketball at Eastern Baptist ...
