Matt Cady enters his eighth season at Miami in 2012-13 and sixth as an assistant strength and conditioning coach after starting at Miami in 2005. He will primarily work with the hockey team while also coordinating strength and conditioning programming for the men's golf team.
In addition to serving as a strength and conditioning coach, Cady will coordinate travel and team meals for the hockey team. He will also coordinate the team's community service outreach.
Cady, an Oxford native and Miami alumnus, began working at his alma mater in 2005 as a strength and conditioning intern until being promoted to an assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2007. Prior to his time at Miami, Cady served as a volunteer assistant hockey coach at the University of Denver during the 2004-05 season, working under former Miami hockey coach George Gwozdecky.
Cady was a member of the RedHawks' hockey program from 2000-04, earning his bachelor's degree in 2004 in health and sports studies and his master's degree from Miami in 2007 in exercise science. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
