HAMILTON, Ohio – In their second dual match of the season, the Miami University women’s tennis team swept Wright State, 7-0. Miami won the three doubles matches and came out victorious in all six singles matches, dropping only one set along the way.
In doubles action, sophomore Ana Rajkovic and junior Christine Guerrazzi won 8-6 at No.1 doubles. Senior Nimisha Mohan and freshman Andreea Badileanu prevailed at No. 2 doubles, 8-6. At No. 3 doubles, junior Ramona Costea and senior Christiana Raymond won, 8-5.
In singles play, the RedHawks only dropped one set en route to a 6-0 singles sweep. Raymond won at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-3 and Badileanu won at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Mohan won at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-2 while Costea won at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-2. Rajkovic came out on top at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0. At No. 3 singles, Guerrazzi split her first two sets, 6-1, 4-6. In lieu of a full third set, Guerrazzzi and Wright State’s Vanessa Madrigal played a 10-point tie-breaker in which Guerazzi won 10-7.
Miami returns to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. when Cincinnati comes to Hamilton to face the RedHawks indoors at the Riverside Athletic Club.
