CLEVELAND--Miami University sophomore swimmer Evan Bader (Oxford, Ohio/Talawanda) was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday evening.
It is the second MAC Scholar-Athlete award for Bader in three weeks.
Bader spearheaded the RedHawks to a decisive 174.5-123.5 win at Cleveland State on Nov. 2. He led the RedHawks with 31 points, winning two individual events, placing in another, and contributing to a relay win. Bader seized wins in the 100 and 200 breaststroke in close races. He swam a time of 57.35 in the 100 breaststroke, out touching the Viking’s swimmer by twelve hundredths of a second. Bader’s time in the 200 breaststroke was four hundredths of a second faster than the next swimmer.
He helped the RedHawks kick off the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay in a winning time that was four tenths of a second faster than CSU. Bader also earned two points, finishing fourth (1:57.46) in the 200 IM.
Bader was tabbed the MAC Male Swimmer of the Week earlier this week for his performance against Cleveland State.
