Chuck Crawford
Position: Assistant Coach
Experience: 1 Year

Miami alumni Chuck Crawford returns for his second season as an assistant volleyball coach.

Crawford's primary role is serving as the hitting coach for all Miami hitters. Along with Coach Condit, Crawford also oversees all aspects of RedHawks recruiting.

In his first season with the 'Hawks, Crawford helped middle blocker Cassie Farrell earn First Team All-MAC honors, while outside hitter Jenn Caylor was named a CoSida Academic All-District First Team member.

Crawford previously served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Jacksonville University, where he was responsible for all recruiting, as well as team training, practice planning, scouting and fundraising. While at JU, Crawford helped middle blocker Alyssa Robertson earn Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team honors, and while he helped earn outside hitter Aidan Yager a spot on the All-Atlantic Sun First Team. 

Prior to his time with Jacksonville, he served as a volunteer assistant at Georgia Tech. His primary responsibilities included scouting/film breakdown, practice planning and camp organization. While at Georgia Tech, Crawford helped the Yellow Jackets reach the 2009 NCAA Tournament after a five-year absence.  

He is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, having served on their national Assistant Coaches Committee.

While teaching Health, PE and Special Education for nearly 10 years, Crawford also spent four years (2008-11) working for the A5 Mizuno Volleyball Club in Atlanta, Ga. As the co-lead trainer for the club, he was a training coach for the 18-1 team that won the 2008 USAV Junior National Championship. In 2009, Crawford's A-5 18-2 team qualified for the USAV Junior National Championships marking the first time that an 18-2 had qualified from the USAV Southern Region.

Crawford is a Miami graduate, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education in 2001. He was a four-year member of the RedHawks' club volleyball team.

A native of Middletown, Ohio, Crawford and his wife Lori have three children: Carson (4), Drew (2) and Ty (5 months).
