CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Former Miami RedHawk Chad Reineke has been called up to the Cincinnati Reds and will make his first major league start since 2009 tonight against Milwaukee.
Reineke is 5-2 with a 2.52 ERA at Triple-A Louisville this season. In nine starts, he has registered 31 strikeouts against only 16 walks and is holding opponents to a .245 batting average. He also has a save in his only relief appearance.
A letterwinner at Miami from 2002-04, Reineke made his big league debut in 2008, going 2-1 with San Diego. He pitched five innings in a one-day call-up by Oakland in 2009. This is his second year in the Reds' organization.
