OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami's doubles tandem of Megan Martzolf and Stephanie Danesis moved up 14 spots to 66th in the latest Campbell's/ITA Rankings, the organization announced this week. The ranking is the highest-ever for any Miami women's tennis players.
Martzolf, a senior, and Danesis, a junior, have posted an 11-3 record in the No. 1 position. Ironically, they are two slots behind former teammate Monica Gorny, who now play at Duke.
As a team, Miami is listed at 72nd, down four slots from last week. The RedHawks (9-5) split a pair of matches last week, falling 4-3 at UCF before sweeping Jacksonville. Miami is still the highest-ranked team in the Mid-American Conference, with rival Akron listed in a tie for 75th with Ohio State.
The RedHawks are idle this week, entering conference play Friday, March 25 against Toledo.
