CLEVELAND - For the third time this season, the Miami softball team swept the weekly conference awards the Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday. This time freshman Paige Myers (Grove City, Ohio) was named MAC East Division Pitcher of the Week, while freshman first baseman Allie Larrabee (Chicago, Ill.) was named Co-MAC East Division Player of the Week. It is the first weekly award in both players' careers.

Myers pitched her first career shutout in a six inning win over MAC rival Toledo on Friday. She allowed only two hits while striking out four. She also pitched 2/3 inning of scoreless relief against Morehead State on Thursday.

Larrabee was Miami's leading hitter during the week as she went an impressive 10-for-15 with five RBI and two runs scored. That included two walks for an on base percentage of .706. In a doubleheader against Morehead State, Larrabee went a combined 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored. Taking on MAC Rival Toledo at Miami's home tournament, Larrabee went 3-for-4 and recorded a career-high three RBI. She was 2-for-3 in each of the other two tournament games, finishing the Miami Invitational 7-for-10.

Miami softball players have now won eight individual awards this season, including Jessica Simpson's four Pitcher of the Week tallies and Kayla Ledbetter's two Player of the Week honors.

Miami returns to action this weekend when it begins Mid-American Conference play. The RedHawks travel to Akron for a doubleheader on Friday, Apr. 1 starting at 1 p.m. Miami will then move on to Ohio to face the Bobcats in single games on Saturday, Apr. 2 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, April 3 at 1 p.m.
