OXFORD, Ohio – For their performances last week men’s track and field sophomore high jumper Peter Stefanski and women’s track and field senior thrower Tori Paterra are Miami’s Athletes of the Week connected by Frontier Communications for the week of April 7-13.
Stefanski matched his personal best from the indoor season by clearing 6-11 1/2 to claim the high jump at the All-Ohio Championships. That mark for Stefanski leads the MAC and ranks 38th nationally.
This is the first time in his career that Stefanski has been named Miami’s Male Athlete of the Week.
Paterra outdid her own school record when she launched a throw of 172-4 to win the javelin at the All-Ohio Championships over the weekend. In addition to leading the MAC with that mark, her record throw sits eighth among all NCAA throwers.
This is the first time this season and third time in her career that Pattera has been named Miami’s Female Athlete of the Week. She last won it the week of May 20-26, 2013.
