Men’s Basketball

Last Week: The RedHawks split a pair of games last week but remain one game out of first place in the overall MAC standings. Miami dropped an 83-70 decision to Toledo on Wednesday. (Recap) Junior guard Will Sullivan led all scorers with 19 points, while senior forward Will Felder notched his third double-double of the season with 17 points and a Miami career-high 15 rebounds as Miami downed Eastern Michigan on Saturday, 65-61. (Recap) Last week, Felder was tabbed the MAC East Division Co-Player of the Week for his efforts in Miami’s wins against Central Michigan and at Bowling Green. (Release) This Week: Miami hits the road for a pair of games, playing at Northern Illinois on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. and at Ohio on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. Both games will be televised on the Time Warner Cable Sports Channel. Women’s Basketball

Last Week: Miami split its two matches this week on the road, recovering from a heartbreaking loss on Thursday to win on Sunday. On a night where the ball would not fall into the basket, the Miami University women’s basketball team made a furious comeback to tie the score with 13 seconds remaining. But Buffalo was able to hit a layup with 4.7 seconds left to take a 58-56 win on Thursday night. (Recap) Behind 19 second-half points from freshman guard Jillian Spurlock, and several other great performances, the Miami University women’s basketball team defeated Eastern Michigan, 71-65, on Sunday. (RecapWeek: Miami returns home to take on Toledo at 7 p.m. on Thursday. That game is the final Dollar Days game of the season, and admission is only $1. The RedHawks then return to the road when they travel to MAC East Division leading Bowling Green on Sunday for a 2 p.m. contest.

Ice Hockey

Last Week: Miami was idle last week. Matthew Caito was named the NCHC Defenseman of the Week for his performance against Colorado College. (Release) This Week: Miami returns home to host Western Michigan Feb. 7-8. Game times for both nights is 7:05 p.m..

Women’s Swimming & Diving

Last Week: Miami’s women’s swimming and diving team defeated Eastern Michigan, 176-124, at the Nixon Aquatic Center, earning their eighth straight win in the process. The RedHawks, now 8-1 in dual meets this season and 6-0 in Mid-American Conference competition, used another surge from their distance swimmers to pull out ahead of the visiting Eagles for good. Miami hasn’t lost since October (Recap). Next Week: Miami returns to the pool to compete against Ohio University on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. in the Nixon Aquatic Center.

Men’s Swimming & Diving

Last Week: Miami’s men’s swimming and diving fell to Mid-American Conference opponent Eastern Michigan, 125-175, at the Nixon Aquatic Center, dropping their dual meet record to 4-3 and their MAC dual meet record to 1-2 on the season (Recap). Next Week: Miami competes in their final dual meet of the season on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. when they travel to Muncie, Ind. to compete against Ball State University.

Women’s Tennis

Last Week: Miami won two matches last weekend. The RedHawks did not drop a set as they defeated Wright State, 7-0, on Friday evening. (Recap) Miami moved to 3-0 on the season with a 4-3 win over Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon. (Recap) This Week: Miami travels to Bloomington, Ind. next weekend to take on Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. before returning to Hamilton, Ohio, for a 2 p.m. contest against IUPUI on Sunday, Feb. 9.

Women’s Track & Field

Last Week: Miami was idle last week. Junior Anna Lamb was tabbed the MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week last week for her performance at the Tom Wright Classic. (Release) This Week: The RedHawks return to action at the Akron Invitational Feb. 7-8.
