In addition to the Jan. 29 festivities, Miami Athletics will celebrate the completion of the Armstrong Center at the hockey series against Western Michigan on Feb. 7-8. Mike Armstrong will be recognized prior to the Feb. 7 game.

The University has planned two weeks of Grand Opening Celebration to highlight the building and the groups that occupy the space.

Included in the Armstrong Center is the Shade Family Room, which occupies the former Rowan Hall space. The room is decorated to reflect Miami’s rich heritage and includes a section on the wall dedicated to Miami athletics. As a result, Miami Athletics was one of the university departments asked to assist with the celebration of the building.
