Men’s Basketball

Last Week: Senior forward Will Felder led all players with 22 points, sinking 10-of-12 field goals, while senior guard Quinten Rollins dished out nine assists and tallied five steals and sophomore guard Geovonie McKnight added seven assists and 15 points as the RedHawks fell short in a hard-fought battle at No. 23/22 Massachusetts on Saturday, 73-65. (Recap) This Week: Miami opens Mid-American Conference play at Central Michigan at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8 and return home to host Western Michigan at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11.

Women’s Basketball

Last Week: Miami had a spirited comeback from a 15-point deficit that led to two attempts at 3-pointers to tie the score, but the team’s shot went cold in the final four minutes as Western Michigan took an 88-78 victory in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams on Saturday. (Recap) This Week: Miami is has a pair of MAC games on the road. On Thursday, the RedHawks travel to Ohio for the “Battle of the Bricks” against the Bobcats at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Miami is at Toledo for a 2 p.m. contest.

Ice Hockey

Last Week: After a 23-day layoff, the RedHawks took the ice for an exhibition against the U.S. National Team Development Program on New Year's Eve. Max Cook got MU on the board in the second period and Johnny Wingels' goal 10 seconds into the third tied the score at 2-2. However, the US scored twice in the final minute to send the Red and White to a 4-2 setback. (Recap) This Week: The RedHawks begin the second half of their regular season with a conference series at Western Michigan Jan. 10-11.

Synchronized Skating

Last Week: Miami’s senior team placed second in a four-team field, while the RedHawk junior team finished ninth among the 12-team field at the Foot of the Lake Classic last weekend, which also was the Junior World Qualifier. (Recap) This Week: Miami’s senior and collegiate teams are in action Jan. 11-12 at the Mid-America Championships.

The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams host Cincinnati on Thursday, Jan. 9.
