Last Week: The Miami football team dropped a 41-16 decision last Saturday (RECAP) to Ohio in Athens. Miami’s scores came from Dustin White (22-yard TD) and Andrew Kummer (3-yard rush), while Kaleb Patterson drilled a 45-yard field goal. Highlight of the contest was Zac Murphy, who averaged 52.7 yards per punt, which included kicks of 73 and 65 yards. This Week: The RedHawks will face Bowling Green on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. inside Yager Stadium. The game will be carried live on ESPNU.

Ice Hockey

Last Week: Miami went 0-1-1 last weekend versus No. 8 Providence. On Friday (RECAP) the RedHawks dropped a 3-2 decision and came away with a 4-4 tie on Saturday night (RECAP). For the weekend Austin Czarnik lead the team with five points (0g, 5a), while Riley Barber added four points (3g, 1a). This Week: The RedHawks host Canisius on Nov. 1-2 inside Steve Cady Arena. Canisius is the defending Atlantic Hockey Champion and advanced to the national tournament last season.


Last Week: Miami sits atop the MAC East Division standings after a 1-0 shutout against Central Michigan on Friday and a 1-1 double-overtime draw at Bowling Green on Sunday. The RedHawks have an unbeaten streak of nine straight games. Sophomore midfielder Jess Bronke scored in the fifth minute in a 1-0 triumph over Bowling Green. With the shutout win, senior goalkeeper Allison Norenberg set the Miami single-season record for shutout, collecting her ninth of the season. (Recap) Freshman forward/midfielder Taylor Jackson collected the RedHawks’ goal in a 1-1 double-overtime tie at BGSU. (Recap) Junior forward/midfielder Kelsey Dinges was named MAC Offensive Player of the Week after her performance against Northern Illinois and Toledo last week. (Release) This Week: Miami rounds out the regular season at Ball State on Thursday, Oct. 31. The MAC Tournament begins on Sunday, Nov. 3 with quarterfinal matches at campus sites.


Last Week: Miami dropped a pair of MAC matches on the road last week. After three back-and-forth, hard-fought sets, a slow start in the fourth set cost the Miami in a 1-3 (21-25, 23-25, 25-23, 18-25) setback against Toledo Friday night. (Recap) Facing the current Mid-American Conference leader on the road on Saturday, the RedHawks dropped the first two sets against Ball State, before coming back to win the third. The Cardinals were able to rebound and take a close decision in the fourth set as the RedHawks fell, 1-3 (19-25, 19-25, 25-23, 23-25). (Recap) Earlier in the week, senior libero Madison Hardy was honored as MAC East Division Player of the Week for her record-setting weekend the previous week. (Release) This Week: The RedHawks remain on the road as they travel to Bowling Green on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Northern Illinois on Saturday at 8 p.m. (EDT).

Field Hockey

Last Week: The field hockey team had a tough week, dropping a pair of MAC games on the road. On a cold and wet day in Athens, a goal early in the second half proved to be the difference as Ohio defeated the RedHawks, 1-0, in a defensive battle on Wednesday. (Recap) Maimi scored an early goal, but Kent State was able to come back to earn a 3-1 victory in Mid-American Conference action on Sunday. (Release) Prior to their games this week, junior back Ali Froede was honored for the second straight week she was named MAC Offensive Player of the Week. (Release) This Week: Miami completes the regular season with a pair of home matches. The RedHawks have their final MAC game when they take on Central Michigan Saturday at noon. Miami then faces Providence on Senior Day at noon.


Last Week: The Miami golf team tied for fourth place along with University of Toledo in the Georgetown Intercollegiate Tournament this week. The RedHawks ended the tournament with a final round of 28-over par and a final score of 880. UAB won the tournament after shooting five-under par with a final score of 847. Miami actually outshot the ninth-ranked Blazers by five shots in the final round. (Day 1 Recap) (Day 2 Recap) This Week: The fall season is complete. The RedHawks return to action Feb. 10-11 when they head to Dade City, Fla., for the annual Mid-American Match Play Championship.

Women’s Cross Country

Last Week: The team was idle this week This Week: Miami returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Bowling Green for the MAC Championship.

Men’s Cross Country

Last Week: The team was idle this week. During the break, senior Dave Wing was named MAC Runner of the Week for the fifth time this season after his performance at the Pre-Nationals on Oct. 19 (Release) This Week: Miami returns to action on Saturday, when it travels to Bowling Green for the MAC Championship.

Women’s Swimming

Last Week: Twelve first-place finishes propelled the RedHawk women’s swimming and diving team to their first win in Mid-American Conference competition on the road at Akron, winning, 187.5-109.5 (RECAP). Miami won 12 of 16 events and placed second in each of the other four events. Next Week: The RedHawks return to action Friday, Nov. 1, against Bowling Green at home in the Nixon Aquatic Center.

Men’s Swimming

Last Week: The men’s swimming and diving team had last week off, however, sophomore Evan Bader was tabbed the MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for his performance in the season-opening meet against Xavier. (Release) This Week: Miami will travel to Cleveland State for a dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 2. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. 

Women’s Tennis

Last Week: Miami rounded out play at the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional. Junior Alix Thurman won the back draw title. (Recap) This Week: Miami competes at the Memphis Invitational Nov. 1-2.

Women’s Basketball

This Week: The RedHawks play their only exhibition game of the season when they host Seton Hill on Saturday at 2 p.m. Admission is free, and it will be broadcast live on Miami All-Access for those who have a subscription.

Men’s Basketball

This Week: Miami hosts Northwood in a tune up for the 2013-14 season in their lone exhibition game. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and admission is free to the exhibition game, and it will be broadcast live on Miami All-Access for those who have a subscription.
