OXFORD, Ohio With a couple of great performances, junior soccer forward/midfielder Kelsey Dinges and junior football wide receiver David Frazier are Miami’s Athletes of the Week connected by Frontier Communications for the week of Oct. 14-20.

Dinges powered the Miami University women’s soccer team to a pair of shutout wins over the weekend, which catapulted the RedHawks into sole possession of first place in the MAC East Division standings. She scored three of Miami’s four goals for the weekend as the RedHawks recorded a pair of 2-0 wins against Northern Illinois and Toledo. In Sunday’s win, she helped the RedHawks seize their ninth shutout and eighth shutout win of the season and extended MU’s unbeaten streak to seven straight games. For her efforts, she was named the MAC East Division Offensive Player of the Week.

This is the third time in Dinges’ career she has been named Miami’s Female Athlete of the Week. She previously was honored twice last season, for the weeks of Oct. 8-14 and the Nov. 5-11.

Frazier had a career-high nine catches for 79 yards and a touchdown versus Akron on Saturday night. His touchdown helped knot the score at 7-7 in the first quarter. Frazier and the RedHawks had a season-best 303 yards of offense, which included 226 through the air.

This is the first time in his career that Frazier has been named Miami’s Male Athlete of the Week.
