OXFORD, Ohio - ANTHONY AZAMA, Miami University's Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Sales & Licensing, has accepted a second term as Chairman of the Board for the Oxford Chamber of Commerce.
Carol Dockum, president of the Chamber, praised Azama for his leadership at the organization's annual meeting and awards program last week.
"I have been the President of The Oxford Chamber of Commerce for one-and-a-half years now, and it has truly been a privilege to work with Anthony Azama as he brings strategic vision and leadership to the Chamber," Dockum said. "Anthony has demonstrated a true passion for not only making a difference in our business community by creating value for our Chamber members, but he has a sincere desire to showcase the wonderful assets we possess here in Oxford. You are only as good as those you surround yourself with, and I am fortunate to be surrounded by an A-List team, led by our Chairman of the Board, Anthony Azama."
Azama recently received a "Red Bricks to Progress" Award from the Chamber for his leadership in the Chamber and for directing the Chamber's MBA initiative.
The Oxford Chamber also gave special recognition to the Oxford Kroger Store as its Business of the Year. Kroger is a corporate sponsor of Miami Athletics and hosts the RedHawks' weekly HawkTawk show in its bistro area. Kroger's store manager is Ed Begley.
